The rising artist pays homage to No Doubt and their reunion on this engrossing new cover of their 1992 track
Despite being just 15-years-old, Angeleno singer-songwriter Edie Yvonne has flexed a musical knowledge and appreciation that spans far beyond her years with an engrossing and creative new cover of No Doubt’s ‘Sometimes’, a track from their 1992 self-titled debut album that was released over 15 years before the artist was born.
The cover does however, show a lot of consideration and love to the original, taking the signature aura and charisma that No Doubt had and infusing it with the artist’s own increasingly prevalent appeal, making for a sound that feels both familiar while putting Edie’s distinctive stamp on the track. The cover is a really thoughtful way to celebrate the band’s reunion and lauded set at Coachella, while continuing to signal the engrossing charm of Edie and her ever-developing and expanding appeal.
