Latest release ‘Movies’ is the perfect track to accentuate this point. A slow burning bop that moves at a cerebral and calculating pace, building to an anthemic chorus as the artist dreams of an escape from the banality of (what was) lockdown. There is a masterful potency to this sound and Eiza really feels like an artist that is ready for much, much bigger things, boasting an alternative pop sound that could dominate and captivate a room of any size.
“‘Movies’ is a song I wrote about daydreaming and escaping reality for a minute in your mind.” Eiza says of the track. “I thought ‘what would it look or feel like if my life was scripted in a film?’. After the year we’ve just had, I think everyone is craving a little predictability.”
