‘THRIVE’ is the new retro-inspired electro-pop stormer from emzae

The track marries sounds of the 80s and today to create something truly special.

Creating a surprisingly harmonious marriage between the purely 80s sounds of acts like The Pet Shop Boys and uniting them with a more contemporary and cutting edge setting, emzae makes some ambitious strides on latest single ‘THRIVE’, and sees them pay off emphatically.

The tracks production harks back to sounds of the past but is never weighed down by them, emzae’s energetic and irresistible vocal performance keeps the track feeling new and exciting, and the upbeat and dancy nature of the track does a fine job of merging the retro with more cutting edge, contemporary sensibilities.

“This is what it feels like to be free” emzae repeats on the track, and ‘THRIVE’ is the perfect piece of work to encapsulate that feeling.

“THRIVE is an anthem for anyone who has ever felt uncomfortable or out of place in a social setting,” says emzae of the track, “It’s for anyone who’s ever been in a bathroom cubicle at some sort of bar, dreading the fact they’ve got to emerge from it at some point. For anyone who’d like to embark on the path to being unashamedly themselves and not feeling bad about that. But also having a dance whilst they’re doing it.”
