For those of you not in the know – though, if that’s the case, where have you been? – a ‘softboi’ is the alter-ego of the effervescent ‘fuckboi’. The version of which is emotional and sensitive and will promise to never heart you.
This track is to expose all of those guys that hide behind ‘nice guy’ persona’s only to be texting other girls underneath the dinner table.
Throwing nods to the pop sounds of the early 00’s, with specific memories of Avril Lavigne coming to the surface, the track is a call to arms against these ‘softbois’ as, we all deserve a bit better than that.
It’s clear that Ettie has got a talent for songwriting and we can’t wait to hear more.
