The track is the latest in a glut of releases from the artist.
EVNTYD (eventide) is the project of Austin-based producer-songwriter Julián Berdegué, an outlet for the artist to write outside of the confines of his old band Have To Have.
The latest release from the artist is ‘Sleepy Head’, a track that draws parallels to artists such as DIIV, Beach Fossils, Turnover, and Day Wave thanks to its melancholic guitars and purposeful, melodic melodies. ‘Sleepy Head’ is a slow burn that burns into life as the artist expresses his excitement to get the day into motion with his fiancé, Emily. The end result is a rousing and heartwarming release that serves as a poignant ode to his significant other.
Berdegué says: “This song is basically me telling her ‘tiiime to wake up, it’s 10am on a Saturday, wake up, come on, let’s go hiking with the dog or something, it’s gonna be a big day!’ I’m very much a morning person and like to squeeze every second I can out of a day, whereas she likes to sleep in when she can, and given we shared a studio apartment at the time, I was more or less stuck with playing guitar in the bathroom until she came around to waking up :)”
