A beautiful introduction to the artist’s sound, emerging artist feeo shares the trip-hop inflected pop of her new single ‘Yeti’. The track comes with an artistic video by Kathryn Attrill.
Only 20 years old but with a sound far wiser and composed than her years would belie, feeo’s delicate and understated composition serves to highlight her stunning soulful vocal. With sparse R&B undertones and beats but with an undeniable influence of trip-hop, moving synths weaves a captivating and emotive aura around feeo’s storytelling lyrics.
“Some of my favourite sounds on ‘Yeti’ Niko had collected when he was travelling and working in the Himalayas, a purposeful reference to the context of the cultural mythology surrounding the Yeti,” shares feeo of the single. “These include a synth pad made from the glacial sound of ice melting and a dissonant siren made from a sample of a traditional Nepalese horn.
“It was important to use sounds that had a context that related to the concept itself-even if subtle, these details contribute to the narrative.”
‘Yeti’ is available now.
