UK indie-folk artist Finn Forster has been making waves over the last few years, from reaching number five on the iTunes pop charts to amassing tens of thousands of streams across his thoughtful releases. The artist looks poised to make a real breakthrough in the near future, and has all of the tools necessary to do so.

Finn’s sound is drenched in personality and drive, and this is no different on his new single ‘Call You Mine’, a lively, energetic track that fuses a combination of synth, acoustic and electric guitars to craft something that sits neatly somewhere between earnest folk and cutting edge indie pop. The artist’s sound is so often grounded in reality and his own thoughts and experiences, as he gives away little pieces of his life within his stories, and ‘Call You Mine’ recounts his experiences starting out as a hungry young artist and his determination to carve out a name for himself. The highs and lows and struggles of this experience bleed through the track, but with his charismatic, upbeat charm that keeps it feeling engaging and fun throughout.

“I don’t think you can get any more real song wise than Call You Mine, I remember being sat at the end of my bed in the house I was renting at that time in central Middlesbrough, at the time I was gigging up to 4 times a week, heading to countless open mics and paving my way with no real plan at that time of what I wanted as an artist.” Finn says of the track. “I suddenly felt I’d been hit with some hard truth’s and realisations that how much you truly have to go after something if you want it enough. I picked up my guitar, and had the 1st verse and chorus pretty much right away. Ever so often I get a huge release after songwriting, almost like a weight off my shoulders and clearing of the mind. This certainly happened with Call You Mine. You you don’t get that feeling unless you’ve truly written from a place of truth. For me that’s the best part about songwriting, because I know how much that will now go on to resonate with listeners.”
