The exciting UK band continue to showcase their unfiltered and intoxicating appeal
A fiercely exciting and cutting edge band who are have been doing things their own way and reaping the rewards, Gen and the Degenerates are a UK band who’s witty writing and catchy hooks have seen them rising to prominence over the last few years while cultivating an enviable collection of tracks along the way.
Their new single ‘Favourite Jumper’ is a track that continues to showcase their massive appeal while cutting a frustrated and exasperated figure. The track explores the expectations on women to be agreeable and quiet and fit into the boxes that people ask them to, especially with the unsettling resurgence of the right wing that we are seeing all around us. It is a track that feels vibrant, visceral, and intense, packed full of memorable moments while having an upbeat and enormously fun and hard-hitting appeal to it throughout.
“Whenever the right wing is on the rise there is this puritanical pressure placed on women to be virtuous. Women are villanised for being overtly sexual and treated as if they don’t have agency or control over their own bodies.” States vocalist Genevieve Glynn-Reeves.
