On their bittersweet and emotionally charged new single ‘Angel Dust’, Washington, D.C.-based indie pop band GLOSSER explore the duality of the party lifestyle, ranging all the way from the ups and the harrowing darkness and emptiness that sits beneath the surface, making for a multi-faceted and depth-packed listening experience that feels engrossing and real.

There is a truly poignant and thought-provoking feel to the track throughout, with their usual dreamy exterior met with a sombre sense of darkness that mirrors that of its narrative, sitting comfortably beneath some of its more dancey and energetic sensibilities. ‘Angel Dust’ is a track that reaches and resonates with you as a listener for a plethora of reasons, and this makes for a truly immersive piece of art that does a great job of capturing a very specific feeling through the way that it unfolds.

On the song, the band’s Riley Fanning says, “‘Angel Dust’ is a self-referential dance pop song about having maybe too much fun. It’s a tailspin, both the party itself and the emptiness that comes from that. Writing this song seems to have further solidified a constant theme in our music – using pop constructs to convey darker, more raw feelings. To me the song is like a night out when the bars are closing, but you want to keep partying to avoid an empty apartment, to avoid the morning light.”
