Her candid and authentic appeal continues to shine on her relatable third single

A powerful track that is built on the vulnerability and authenticity of the artist and her writing, Aly Navarro‘s new single ‘DNR’ is a track that sees her dissecting a relationship that has been mired in unreliability and uncertainty, with the artist finding her strength and resolve in the aftermath following the realisation that she deserves much better.

It is a narrative that will strike a chord with a lot of listeners, with modern relationships often leaving people in a kind of half-in, half-out limbo where nothing is certain or even promised, and the vivid and candid ways that the artist explains these feelings makes for a resonating listening experience throughout. There is a warmth to the artist’s artistry and style despite the pain that she sings about throughout the track, and her personable appeal makes the track feel universal and easy to relate to regardless of how specific her writing can sometimes feel, and this makes it easy to put yourself in her shoes and really latch onto the emotions and feelings that she dives into.

“I learned that he was not who I originally thought he was, and when I decided that I did not deserve to feel the way he made me feel, that was when I wrote DNR with my co-writers [Makena Tate, Michael Leto],” says Navarro. “I decided I could no longer stand the disrespect and confusion that this ‘situationship’ was causing me.”
