And what an introduction to their sound it is
GNASHERS have unleashed a side-winding, perplexing leviathan of a track on their debut single. ‘Pyroclastic Moments’ is jarring, it is bending, it pulls and pushes you through left turns and stop-start moments, but it has an innate sense of fun and chaotic energy to it.
Taking queues from artists such as Radiohead and At The Drive In, the track seems to have little care for conventional song structure or expectation. The track goes where it pleases when it pleases, and is all the better for it. Eventually, the tracks twists and turns lead it to a frenetic closing stretch that puts an exclamation on the band, their sound and their attitude towards songwriting.
‘Pyroclastic Moments has an odd charm and is full of surprises and packs a powerful punch in moments where you may not expect it to. We’re not sure what GNASHERS have in store next, but it will for sure be a lot of fun.
