Seraphina Simone – Hollywood $$$

Following up the delightful debut ‘Cherry <8’, Seraphina Simone is back yet again with another stunning effort. This time focussed on the life of the celebrity in Hollywood.

Speaking on the track she explains, “Hollywood $$$ is about the Lynchian, fame-obsessive undercurrents of tinsel town, with its sirens, starlets, leeches & letches. It’s about that world of smoke and mirrors – where nothing and no one is really as it seems, and the world of celebrity – where we deify or demonise people into these superhumans or arch-villains. It’s about how seductive fame can be, how it’s something we all envision in the back of our minds – the perfect life without money worries where everyone loves us and we can do whatever we want – but it comes at a huge price and can destroy you if you chase it too hard.”

Quiet Houses – Pool

Need something to lift your spirits? Quiet Houses have the perfect thing for you here in ‘Pool’.

It’s not the most conventional of pick-me-ups as the track takes you through a story about growing up with an alcoholic father, especially as the lyricism really hits home with the melancholic side of the story. But the chorus, like with any good pop song, is ready and raring to lift things up.

A must listen.

Liimo – Miracle

If you’re not already on the Liimo train, then where have you been? Their carefully crafted alt-pop is ready to soar.

Their new track ‘Miracle’ comes with the news that the trio are about to release their debut album, Volume 01. The track has a solid beat and a deliciously light and fluffy feel to it that will glide along with you effortlessly.

Speaking about ‘Miracle’, the band said, “Miracle is a song about a summer breakup, where you thought everything was heading in the right direction until it all came crashing down with no warning.”

StanLei – Wild Womxn

We’ve got a proper special one for you here, StanLei’s ‘Wild Womxn’ is an experimental wonder throwing homage to wild femininity.

It’s fair to say there’s a lack of respect for this level of femininity and that’s exactly what this track is here to say. Expect a uniquely refreshing beat and a whole lot of cello… yes, that’s right. Cello.

Ben Kidson – (When I) Runaway

Ahh, we love Ben Kidson here at CLOUT! We get a little buzz of excitement every time we see his name pop up.

New track, ‘(When I) Runaway’ is more of the same high quality from him. Silky smooth vocals and sleek synths and samples that grip on to you and don’t let go. Keep your eye on this one. Radio 1 is calling.

Kemi Ade – 5ADAY

Are you a fan of lo-fi R&B? You’re gonna love this one. Kemi Ade’s ‘5ADAY’ sees peak 90’s synths meet a new-era type of funk that lays down a smooth af base for Kemi’s effortless vocals.

Lyrically, the track sees Kemi take on female empowerment and confidence, encouraging other womxn to “be proud of their sexuality and embrace their wants and needs.”

If you’re wanting to feel a certain type of way… this one might be for you.

Glom – Matches

Now, time for some FUZZ! Glom have just dropped ‘Matches’, the second taster from their upcoming sophomore LP, Merit.

This one is centred around that battle between personal growth and what others want you to be, a time that can be full of self-doubt and anxiety, but as a silver lining, it’s brought us this killer track. Expect soft and subtle vocals with powerful, rousing guitars that cinematically build into a magnificent ending.

Hi Frisco – Headspin (Feat. Charlotte Spiral)

Prepare for a journey and a half with the new one from Hi Frisco. Following recent singles ‘Gold’, ‘Snowfall’ and ‘The War’, they’ve now released ‘Headspin’, with the vocal talents of Charlotte Spiral thrown in for good measure.

The track comes straight from their forthcoming debut album, Goodbye, Blue Monday, and hits bold, bright and full of textured atmosphere that will certainly drag you in.

Speaking about the new offering, Hi Frisco said, “Headspin was a song we’d had demo’d for a while but got round to recording it quite late in the album process. In our heads it was supposed to sound like a cross between LCD Soundsystem and the Shirelles but kind of mutated into its own thing, part low slung groove with coldwave synths and part doo wop harmonies and crooner ish lead vocals.”

Shannen James – Empty Eyes

New signing to Ivy League (Hatchie, Rolling Blackouts CF), Shannen James is slowly gearing up for the release of her debut EP with this dreamy bop ‘Empty Eyes’.

A stunning pop effort with all the ingredients to make a full, emotive sound that rolls over you in a refreshing wave of smooth production. If you’re a fan of that pop/folk/country sound then this will do you nicely.

High School Jacob – Die 4 U

Ending things on one big high, High School Jacob have a full force, electro bop in ‘Die 4 U’.

If you’re not familiar with HSJ, this song, as well as his former releases, come alongside HSJ 2020, the collection of music and corresponding video games(!) in one of the most creative releases of the year.
