If there is one thing that we have learnt from London-based Home Counties over the last two years, it is that their genre-hopping sound seemingly has no real boundaries or borders, and this makes for some truly exciting and unique sounds.

Latest release ‘Village Spirit’ is possibly one of the most vibrant examples of this to date, from its frenzied guitars to its electronics that seem to emerge out of nowhere, the track is a riot that somewhat inevitably ends up descending into chaos. It is an absolute miracle that this sound works with all of the different and seemingly random moving parts that occupy its space, but the sound has a really fun and endearing quality to it and enough post-punk personality to tie it all together. It sort of sounds like Courting all took acid and got let into a music room, assuming that the end result would be really good. We can’t wait to hear what’s next.
