Their thoughtful new single comes with contrasting electric and acoustic versions
On their brand new double A-side ‘The Drugs Are Working’, Dublin indie rock outfit Hook are searching for that special something that everyone is looking for in one way or another, that thing to light up your life and give you a renewed sense of purpose, something to make the days feel just a little bit brighter and fill you with hope and optimism.
The track comes in two forms, an electric version and an acoustic version, making up what is essentially two sides of the same coin, conveying the same messages but with very different tones and feels that surround the aura of the track. This makes for two very interesting and contrasting takes on the single, immediate and powerful versus more measured and restrained, both versions highlighting the nuance and appeal that Hook have in abundance through their nostalgic, new wave-esque sound.
