‘Shine On’ is a chaotic new track and video from alternative outfit Hot Mass

Following on from the release of their new album Happy, Smiling and Living the Dream back in October, Hot Mass have released their latest single from the LP, the grungy, 90s-tinged riot that is ‘Shine On’.

The track tackles themes like society, and the pressures that we are faced with to seem successful and happy in the social media age. The intensity of the narrative is matched by sheer energy and impacfulness of the sound, but juxtaposed by the absurd nature of its music video (which features a cameo from the iconic elevator music from The Stanley Parable, IYKYK). This makes for a really chaotic barrage of sights and sounds that kind of summarises the reality of modern life in its own way. The outfit’s ever-catchy brand of punk is as evident as ever here, and ‘Shine On’ is the latest in a long line of successes for the outfit.
