A track packed full of themes like grief and anxiety and with a punchy, atmospheric sound to match, new ill peach single ‘MOLLY’S NOT A FRIEND’ is a powerful new single that explores bad decisions and the spiralling effects that they can have on us when we are going through tough times.

The track has the duo’s signature upbeat rhythms and bouncy energy but there is a sinister undertone to the lyrics and the feel of the track overall, making for a listening experience that is slightly more uneasy throughout. There are poignant messages here that lie within the harrowing experience outlined, and it makes for a truly multi-faceted and absorbing listen that grips you from the offset and continues to showcase just how diverse ill peach are and what a lasting presence they can leave on you with their art.

“‘Molly’s Not a Friend’ came out of a night I thought might numb something in me.” Jess Corazza says of the track. “I went to this party, still deep in grief after my dad passed, and decided to take MDMA for the first time in a long time. It backfired immediately. I got so sick I spent most of the night on a curb, throwing up, completely outside of myself.

But the strangest part wasn’t even the physical spiral—it was how hyper-aware I became. I felt like I was listening in on reality in the worst way. Snippets of conversations, people brushing past me, laughter that felt distorted—it was not fun.

The song came from that experience—realizing that anything promising escape can turn on you, and that grief doesn’t dissolve just because you try to outrun it. I made Molly a character in lyric that described the ultimate party girl, which I found out that night I was the not.”
