In 2022, Jodi Heights released her lauded EP Triptych which featured the stunning single ‘The Iceberg’, and now the track has received a similarly powerful and thought-provoking video.
The subject of the video, brought to life by cinematographer Noah Dickinson and choreographer Rachel Hettinger, is something that a lot of people have mused over at one time or another, if aliens studied the human race, what kind of things would they do and learn. These thoughtful and interesting moments echo the expansive concept explored in the track, and come complete with captivating dance routines and stirring shots of Jodi herself playing the piano. This makes for a video that is packed full of creativity and some of the harrowing realities surrounding our obsession with things like social media, wealth and status. Jodi Heights’ sound is interesting and immersive enough on its own right, but with such well choreographed and executed visuals to accompany it, the multi-faceted and memorable appeal only widens and feels more all-encompassing.
