With an emotionally poignant indie pop sound and a her penchant for crafting relatable and pointed lyrics, Kaeley Jade is an artist that seems capable of exciting things. Whether crafting bouncy anthems or more melancholic and thoughtful reflections, there is a real engaging edge to her writing and her sound.

Her latest release ‘Ego’ falls into the latter category, as the artist examines toxic relationships after having a rough experience. Lyrics such as “my heart proved more fragile than your ego” serve as a gut punch, alluding to the moments that we realise that people maybe don’t have our best interests at heart or value how we feel. The track is a sobering listening experience that could maybe even prompt you to assess your own relationships and experiences. Kaeley’s lyrics and impassioned vocals create a really vivid story and picture and feel as real and authentic as anything you’re likely to hear anytime soon.

“I wrote ‘Ego’ after a particularly rough night at a party, and I wanted to explore how toxic relationships can impact our mental health,” says Kaeley. “This one goes out to all those struggling to find closure.”
