We are staunch Kaeley Jade supporters here at CLOUT, and the Canadian artist keeps continuously reminding us why with each new release from the artist.

Following on from the excellent ‘Ego’ released earlier in the year, Kaeley has now released ‘Poltergeist’, another indie pop gem that this time bustles with an infectious sense or energy and charm. The track is just the latest in a long line of showcases of the artist’s impactful and impassioned vocals, and the thoughtful nuance that her sound can possess while still feeling exciting and dynamic. Despite the love-sick subject matter, Kaeley continues to establish herself as a vibrant presence and the sheer sense of fun and catharsis that runs riot on the track makes for a really enjoyable and memorable listen.

“Feeling the spark go out in a relationship is brutal—it’s somewhat of a catch-22, because the harder you try to hold on to someone, the faster they seem to slip away,” says Kaeley. “A couple years back, I was seeing someone for a while, and just when it seemed like it was starting to go somewhere, I noticed a strange feeling of distance between us that began to grow and grow to a point where one day, we just stopped talking to each other altogether. It was as if I had dated a ghost. So I ended up writing ‘Poltergeist’ as a bit of a tongue-in-cheek response to that experience.”
