On her moving new single ‘Stranger on a Pedestal’, Melbourne based singer-songwriter Karen Harding continues to showcase the intimate and stirring appeal of her songwriting and the relatable and resonating edge that she so often captures within it.

The new single explores the feeling of putting somebody on a pedestal and setting huge expectations for them before you get to know each other properly and ultimately meeting them to find out all of their flaws and things that weren’t what you expected. The acoustic nature of the sound and the artist’s expressive and powerful vocals really bring together the candid and thoughtful nature of the sound, with its grounded feel really hammering home the message that everyone is just human beneath all of the excess and smoke and mirrors that often cloud our judgement, with the same imperfections and unique quirks as ourselves.

“I wanted to get across that lightbulb moment when you finally see somebody for who they are, outside of the pedestal you’ve given them,” Karen shares. “It’s all about realising the beauty and vulnerability in our shared human experience.”
