The UK artist continues to show off the nuance and charm of her thoughtful sound.

Kate Lomas and her infectious indie pop charm are well documented at this point, with the artist building a stellar catalogue of tracks that have seen her expand upon and develop her gorgeous sound that is packed full of nuance and thoughtful, endearing charm.

The latest release from the artist really encapsulates everything that has made the artist so lauded over the years, with the dreamy ‘Last Train Home’ feeling like the perfect introspective accompaniment to long journeys spent daydreaming and feeling like the main character on a TV show. There is an atmospheric kind of pensiveness throughout the track that eventually gives way to an uplifting euphoria, leaving listeners with a rousing sense of hope brought on by the affable lightness of the sound and its lush synths. ‘Last Train Home’ is a gorgeously crafted track that simultaneously shows how gentle and how immersive Kate’s sound can be, a journey through different moods and feelings that proves to be a wonderfully easy listen.

“This song was written at a real low point of heartbreak in my life, I was very lost and the intention behind the initial lyric was that I wanted someone else to make me feel good” says Kate. “I didn’t realise until I finished the track, but I was the person that made a good thing out of my old self – I didn’t need someone else, I just needed to allow myself the time to heal and turn a bad situation into a good one through the process.”
