The track follows on from the success of her effortlessly poised debut single ‘bloom’.
UK singer-songwriter Katherine Nora‘s initial releases have showcased an artist with an otherworldly ability to make you lose yourself in her gorgeously stirring, effortlessly captivating sounds. The artist showcased this talent on her CLOUT lauded debut solo single ‘bloom’, and has now doubled down on it on the equally stirring new release ‘sycamore’.
Whereas ‘bloom’ felt more like a slow-burning piece of balladry, its successor has a more driving feel to it, while maintaining the artist’s melancholy sense of atmosphere and composure. The track’s gorgeous imagery and sweetness however, conceals a more bittersweet narrative about a break-up that came out of nowhere, adding a tinge of sadness and regret to its gentle grooves and effortless sense of breezy appeal.
‘sycamore’ is another triumph from an artist who’s atmospheric, earnest sound bustles with charm and personality, and sets her aside as an artist who stands out in her own distinctive way, her nature-infused sound and relatable lyrics making for something of a familiar and comforting journey for listeners.
