The track is the follow up to their encouraging debut single ‘Tits and Teeth’.

Brighton five-piece KNIFE BRIDE affectionately refer to their sound as “glitter pop slut metal”, and what that sounds like is exactly as abrasive and uncompromising as you would think. This is a sound built on defiance and non-conformity, punctuated by fierce, impassioned vocals, crushing riffs and a distinctive cocktail of pop and metal.

The outfit established this unique sound on the debut single ‘Tits and Teeth’ and now it’s follow up, the brand new ‘Grenade’ continues to showcase what makes the outfit so fresh and exciting. ‘Grenade’ is anthemic in nature, as the outfit explore the theme of the exploitation of women, everything about the track from its pointed lyrics, chugging riffs, and inescapable intensity and energy feels like a rallying cry of solidarity to other women, and a message of unwavering defiance. The track is both melodic and heavy, oozing with an effortlessly cool, and  carrying a vital message about how far we still have to come in the way that society treats women. ‘Grenade’ is the manifestation of a protagonist who refuses to be a victim, and takes a stand against the bullshit and hypocrisy that she sees.

Lead vocalist, Mollie Clack, explains the song by saying “we have watched in horror all our lives as we see women sexually harassed and assaulted, murdered, and then blamed for their choice of clothing. ‘Grenade’ is a reminder that the blood on the carpet is here to stay, with the film ‘Hard Candy’ used as the inspiration behind the ‘revenge is sweet’ narrative.”
