Balancing a heartbroken narrative with bouncy, upbeat pop rock, latest Laur Elle release ‘Hate That You Love Me’ is further evidence of the high ceiling and boundless potential that the emerging artist has.

Even when crafting such a devastated and emotionally rich track, effortless pop appeal oozes from her sound and catchy, even fun sensibilities dominate proceedings. The further that you look into lyrics, the more bittersweet and melancholy it starts to feel, but this just makes for a multi-faceted release that is packed full of depth and the artist’s unique charm.

‘Hate That You Love Me’ is an upbeat modern pop rock song about meeting the right person at the wrong time.” Laur Elle says of the track. “I wrote ‘Hate That You Love Me’ after the worst breakup I’d ever experienced. I was in a bad place mentally and wanted to take the time to find myself again. But of course as soon as I started to do that I met the most amazing person in the world and couldn’t stand the thought of losing them. I found myself flipping back and forth between doing everything I could to heal while in a new relationship, to feeling guilty for not being ready for one.”
