The track is the artist’s first new release for two years.
On her first independent release in two years, Lazygirl teams up with fellow Liverpool-based artist, Tonia, both as part of her effort to work with similarly powerful and creative artists and to craft a sound that compliments their distinctive and effortlessly engaging styles.
The track that the artist has created is the new single ‘Soft Focus’, a wonderful articulation of Lazygirl’s gorgeously dreamy alt-pop sound and a track that floats with a real sense of poise and laid-back appeal. Narratively, the track deals with a case of young love, and the idealistic, rose-tinted glasses that come with the situation as you naively pursue someone and make accommodations for someone that may not be right with you. There is an underlying darkness to the message and the situation but the lightness of the sound and easygoing nature of the engaging vocals does a rousing job of keeping things feeling sweet.
