When speaking about her brand new debut EP Medicine, Lily Welch says that she wants to “to create and share music that moves people, just like it has moved me”, and that is exactly what she has achieved with her new collection of tracks.
A wonderful example of this is ‘Unsettling’, a thoughtful and immersive release about recent times where it has literally felt like the world was falling apart, which only heightened the artist’s anxiety. There is a real rawness to emotion of the artist’s vocals and the stripped-back nature of her sound, with every word feeling that much more real and harrowing thanks to how authentic it all feels. The track is a wonderful place to start if you’re new to Lily and her powerful sound, and showcases the songwriting talent and uniquely real appeal of the fledgling young artist.
