The track follows the release of his similarly heavy previous single ‘Just a Cry’
While his solo work has often seen him lean towards a more acoustic-led, pop influenced sound focussed on melody and emotion, Lipford’s musical heritage comes from almost two decades spent as part of the band MANTRAM, and his more metal and alternative rock leanings have found a way to work their way back into his work, with his new single ‘The Music’ being the latest example.
The track, crafted with Italian hard rock band Neverhush, is one that is packed full of energy and attitude from the moment that it starts. From the riffs, to the crushing drums, to the opening rallying cry of “hey, you, motherfucker”, there was only one way that this track was going to go, and it makes for a hard-hitting and creative love letter to the art form that has allowed the artist to express himself and leave his mark on metal and pop in recent times.
