As soon as we heard their debut single ‘blissful satisfaction’, we were instantly fans of Huddersfield indie-pop outliers LONG ISLAND and their propensity to push the boundaries of the genre with their unique and captivating sounds and ideas.
The second release from the outfit is their new single ‘broken’, another thoughtful and immersive release that showcases a whole other facet to their sound. The track serves as a post-break-up bop, pulling no punches and sparing no detail while talking about the pain and hardship that the situation has caused. There is a real sense of gravity and importance throughout the track, extenuated by its pulsing basslines and punchy drums, making for a release that feels as stirring and emotionally resonant as anything we’ll hear anytime soon.
