It’s the latest cyber pop instalment by the adventurous artist…
Madge is back with their latest hyper cyber-pop instalment, ‘Ethanol’. The new single builds upon the glitchy electronica of previous release ‘Headshot’.
Opening with bassy synth tones, ‘Ethanol’ quickly slips into glitchy beeps and murky whispers before delving headfirst into a relentless drum and bass beat. Madge’s hushed voice incessantly repeats its mantra as the track becomes more urgent, with frenetic, clattering percussion and relentless EDM beats intensifying to a climax. It’s a headache, but a good one.
“Inherited trauma as compulsive self-destruction. For every garbage fire I put out in my brain, I find myself dumping gasoline on another,” explains Madge. “I find myself wondering if I just accept this state of things. I created this song with Lecx Stacy who brought in the grit and grime to my vision. Mixed and mastered by Chance Lewis.”
‘Ethanol’ is available now via 22Twenty.
