The track is the latest release from their upcoming new album Please Don’t Take Me Back.
Having returned earlier in the year with the stellar ‘Please Don’t Take Me Back’, Durham indie punk outfit Martha have been building hype for their upcoming new album of the same name with a raft of engaging and typically thought-provoking new releases.
The latest of these releases is ‘Baby, Does Your Heart Sink?’, a break-up song that channels the trademark sense of rousing optimism and charisma that the outfit have grown known for. Everything from the instantly recognisable vocals to the irresistible melodies and hooks feels like vintage Martha, and their energetic, rousing sound has never felt more welcome than now, in a time of hopelessness and never-ending struggle.
Talking about the new track, Martha said: “‘Baby, Does Your Heart Sink’ is just your classic break-up song, but one designed to be played at the disco at the end of the world. If there are multiple timelines, worlds, and universes out there, you’ve really got to wonder how things are going in the others, don’t you?”
