MarthaGunn are a bit messed up in ‘Caught Up & Confused’

It's their third stellar release of the year!

It’s their third stellar release of the year!

Brighton-by-London five piece MarthaGunn share the retro and emotive sound of ‘Caught Up & Confused’. Their third stellar release of the year, the track is taken from the new EP of the same name.

Following in the wake of ‘It’s Over’ – a fun pop bop that evokes the same kind of frivolous toe-tapping that Hair are likely to induce – ‘Caught Up & Confused’ carries a more reflective tone.

Channelling the 70s-turned-80s influence of Fleetwood Mac, the band appear lost in their transatlanticism; with heart-tugging harmonies and coursing rhythm, the track carries a lover’s discourse with its conversational riffing. It is hard not to get lost in its tale as vocalist Abi Woodman lays her heart out bare, reciting a tumultuous tale of romance in its wake.

‘Caught Up & Confused’ is available now via Communion.
