The 16-year-old continues to showcase her mature and thoughtful sound.
Boston-based singer-songwriter and pop artist, Maya Salafia is an artist who has been immersed in music from a young age. Since releasing her debut EP Trapped In a Daydream at just 13-years-old back in 2019, the artist returned in 2021 with ‘First Grade’, a track that showcased a more refined and developed sound from the artist.
Now the artist has released the follow up to that, the gorgeous new balled ‘Everlasting’ that serves as an ode to love and the longevity and transcendent quality that it can have. The artist’s thoughtful writing and emotive vocals make for a sound that is filled with character and charm, and even at just 16, the artist feels like she is truly maturing into an artist who’s composure and talent belies her years.
“I want people to hear, feel and experience the real, authentic me, and I hope that comes through in my music.” Maya has said. “I love to use imagery to tell a story in my songs, and to share my true self and a piece of my heart and mind with my audience. Also, even though I am only sixteen, which some might consider young, I strive to be taken seriously as a prolific songwriter and performer.”
