The track is just the most recent in a long, long line of successes for the UK’s most underrated band.
Often deservedly lauded as one of the shining lights for the future of modern UK hip-hop, Monster Florence have established themselves as a collective with an unerring level of consistency, releasing tracks that are often poignant, often thought-provoking, but always creative and memorable.
The latest of these releases is ‘Spaceman’, a track that leans into their more introspective tendencies, exploring their childhoods and lives so far and trying to work the way out of the spirals and cycles that they have found themselves in thanks to their backgrounds. The track, as always, feels endlessly captivating and engaging, with the members bouncing off each other and elevating each others verses thanks to the variety and consistency of their performances. ‘Spaceman’ is just the latest in a line of successes for the outfit, and it feels genuinely crazy that they aren’t pulling up more trees and commanding a bigger platform than they currently are. In our opinion, Monster Florence are by far the most underrated artist in the UK right now.
Adding about ‘Spaceman’, they said, “Spaceman tells very personal stories of our childhoods, a journey of trying to escape the realities of what we were faced with, a common story for many and something we hope resonates with people and their own version of those memories.”
