Mountain Bird follows EP release with video for ‘5 Years’

Combining electronic sounds, plenty of textures and the raw, honest lyrics. This is a real musical find.

Honesty is an artform.

Following up the EP release of DearBrainLetMeSleep, Mountain Bird has released the music video for ‘5 Years’ – a track that was a real highlight of the EP.

Written during his time living in Berlin, he’s explained that this was during his transition “into adulthood and developing new self-love”. Openly sharing his time spent suffering with depression, insomnia and low self-esteem, the EP is an honest, raw package that gives a real insight into someone battling with their mental health.

‘5 Years’ is the most poignant example of this, centred around his break up with a long-term girlfriend.

Adam explains how he arrived at writing such a song, saying “I felt it had something youthful and cinematically beautiful about it…to realize that you love someone but the timing isn’t right is such a youthful ideal.”
