While so much of the projects work is rooted in feminine rage and angst, ‘Aware’ is a reflective track about choosing to take a step back and after realising that somebody is probably more likely just unaware than actually the jerk that you thought they were. The candid honesty in the lyrics and thoughtful feel of the layered instrumentation makes for an engrossing and exciting listening experience, and one that keeps the project growing and feeling as memorable as ever five releases in.
