OFLO muses on self-love, alcohol and underwhelming relationships in new single ‘My Way. The latest release is pulled from her new album Temporary.

Capturing a whimsical and retrospective tone with its dreamy guitar work and understated sound, skittish beats and bold bass notes slowly build to a chilled concoction of R&B. Offset with OFLO’s refrained yet smooth vocal delivery, ‘My Way’ sees the New York City inhabitant reflect on a relationship that doesn’t quite meet expectations.

“‘My Way’ has a very specific flavor…and it’s tequlia. Hahahaha – kidding. But seriously, it’s meant to depict the mood / physical experience that is being ‘intoxicated’,” OFLO shares. “It’s basically about this person I used to see, that I realized I could only really express myself around when I was drunk with him. Sad as it sounds, it was the only time I really felt like I was able to feel his love.

“This song is basically a lament for that situation – me wishing I could just be myself and love unconditionally, and never feeling like I had the freedom to do things “my way” unless there was alcohol involved.”

‘My Way’ is available now.
