The track is the outfit’s first release since 2021’s lauded and energetic single ‘Izzy’
Indie music and nostalgia are two things that have always gone hand in hand, and latest release ‘Another Minute’ from London outfit Out At Sea is a track that shows that the formula is still going as strong as today.
Relationships and love as a young person are choppy waters to navigate at the best of times, and when catching feelings for friends is on the table things can often have the potential to descend into chaos. Thankfully, ‘Another Minute’ is a breezy and carefree tune, drenched in sun-soaked jangly guitars and nostalgia. Their sound bleeds with an earnest kind of storytelling and candid honesty that evokes contemporaries like longtime CLOUT favourites Sea Girls, and Out At Sea have all of the potential to be another band that we name check when asked about our favourites. Whether crafting raucous indie pop stompers such as ‘Izzy’ or more heartwarming, nostalgic ones like this, there is a lot to love about the young band.
Speaking about the track, Matt said: “For the first time I blatantly wrote a song about someone else’s experiences – when Mark started getting low key feelings for one of our mates. It’s about that phase where it’s clearly not platonic, but it’s risky to open that box as it’s impossible to close again really, so you need time to just think things through. However that being said, by the time I’d finished demo one they were already together. I thought about renaming it “Another Second” but it didn’t quite have the same ring to it.”
