Having already written and self-produced her debut album, emerging alternative pop upstart SINISTRA has released the first taste of it and the first taste of her unique sound altogether, with her debut single ‘Figure in a Fantasy’.
The track does a wonderful job of accentuating the unique talents that she possesses, with her synth-laden production and engaging, often powerful vocals taking center stage throughout. There is a cinematic and artistic feel to this sound, as synths cascade and swarm you, accosting a thoughtful narrative of lost love and dashed expectations. The track has a remarkably polished feel considering the fierce independence of SINISTRA who wrote, produced and directed the visual art for the track. The only thing left to do now is wait and see if the full length album can live up to the promise shown here.
