The modern political and social landscape is something that often feels scary and uncertain, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t things that we can still poke fun at point out the absurdity of, and latest Poison Oak single ‘Melt’ does just that as it takes a playful jab conspiracy theorists and extremism through the lens of their engrossing indie rock sound.

The new single sees the Australian band wading in on the misinformation that feels so rife in recent times, highlighting the absurdity of tin foil hats, 5G paranoia and fluoride panic to paint a vivid picture of how the allure of such outlandish ideas can lure people in and figuratively ‘Melt’ their brains as the title suggests. The track is packed full of fun moments stylistically, and as it explores the idea of people getting lost in the sauce and grip of what is real, their dynamic sound has a real feel of authenticity and catchiness to it that offers the perfect counterpart to its themes.
