Since emerging back in 2023 with her debut single ‘Sunday’, rising Melbourne electro-pop artist POLLY has been gradually carving out a place for herself in the scene with a sound that feels as creative and vibrant as anything you’re likely to hear soon, melding colourful instrumentation with heartfelt lyrics to make for a captivating, two-pronged aural assault.

Her latest single ‘BETTER’ is a track that fully embodies this dichotomy, both swirling and ambitious in its style while hitting hard emotionally, delving into the urges we have to compare ourselves to everyone else we see and the things we see online and in movies, regardless of how fake and manufactured it all is. The track manages to feel razor sharp while having a really vulnerable and relatable core, and is packed full of engrossing moments and depth throughout.

“I’ve always compared my life to others.” POLLY says of the new single. “I find it really hard to not feel behind or not good enough, especially when it comes to the relationships in my life. I think we all compare without even realising it? Something deeply ingrained within us. I guess this song came from a place of comparison – wanting my life and everything in it to be just like the movies and magazines.”
