Indie rock artist Ally Westover starts a new chapter in poetic ‘Logistical Nightmare’
Easily one of the most relatable breakup singles going, Ally Westover’s reveals indie-rock infused contender ‘Logistical Nightmare’.
A fierce yet upbeat attire about being glad to shut the door on a toxic relationship and start a new, exciting chapter, the track infuses indie, pop and surf rock sensibilities.
Speaking about the release, Ally shares, “Logistical Nightmare’ was written with my friend Joshua Bastone back in January. I had just gotten out of a relationship that had ended because my ex and I had very different perspectives on almost everything.
He had referred to a music promotion idea I had as a “logistical nightmare” and it set me off hahaha. But nevertheless, it was incredibly inspiring. I wrote the tune with Josh and we had a blast reflecting and poking fun at past relationships.
I brought the song to my friends Kelcie Winningham (drums) and Armando Bonnet (electric guitar) and told them my vision for a fun surf rock jam. They helped me bring that vision to life and soon we were in the studio with Mike Fahey at Starbird Sound.
John Elderidge came up with a sweet bassline and we tracked it all in a day while my best friend and photographer got some shots of the process.
Musically vivid with a feel-good soundscape, the hidden metaphors within this track will leave you weak at the knees.
Adding to the transparent single’s meaning, Ally adds, “The message behind ‘Logistical Nightmare’ is that in time you will be okay! Some relationships aren’t meant to last forever. While breakups are emotionally exhausting, what is MORE exhausting is dating a person that you are not compatible with 🙂 “
Turning a negative situation into something positive, this track is best described as special.
