New York City-based quartet Dakota Jones reassure listeners that things do get easier in breathtaking new piece ‘Lord Please’

A prayer and a guiding light to help you when you may be feeling overwhelmed, the track is accompanied by a fitting music video that sees Tristan Carter-Jones perform the powerful release with layers of emotion.

Speaking about the powerful release, Dakota Jones share, “We’ve all had those moments where we feel…tired, overwhelmed, unsure of ourselves to the point that it almost feels easier to give up than start over. There’s a simple human truth that we’re all dealing with some shit, even when it may appear that we have it all together.

There’s something cyclical about life – get up, go to work, do the daily tasks, come home, have dinner, spend time with your loved one (whomever/whatever that may be…your partner, puppy, plants, a glass of wine, Johnny, Jose, Jameson, we can go on) and then you finally get a moment of reprieve and get to go to sleep… Just to wake up and be back at it again tomorrow.

Sometimes we’re able to just go about our days. Other times, we just need to call out and ask for some sort of help to keep us moving through the day.

Our piece will explore just that. We will look at that emotion and what a guiding hand looks like to help us keep on going forward.

This song stems from rampant anxiety and confusion about whether or not you’re gonna make it. It’s a prayer that came about one day while working and became the heartbeat of the song.

Lord, please help me keep my head on straight. Cause I don’t know what the fuck I’m doing, or where I’m going.

This song is a prayer – a calling out to God, our Ancestors, past versions of ourselves, someone to help make sense of the things we’re going through.

A spine-tingling anthem that states sometimes all you need is a vivid vocal and basic instrumentation to captivate listeners from the get-go.

Directed by Doug and Zen, the new music video for “Lord Please” is immersive and a striking addition to the band’s ever-growing bow.
