Lukewarmdaily96 releases Cluck EP alongside saturnine single ‘Poison Apple’
Fresh off the mark of his successful debut single ‘Peaching’, Lukewarmdaily96 may use a username as his persona but this artist is as real as it gets.
Returning with full-length EP ‘Cluck’, the lo-fi artist has received praise from the likes of EARMILK, Atwood Magazine and Spotify’s key editorial list ‘Our Generation’.
‘Poison Apple’ is a taster of the debut EP, a mixed bag of stylistic music, held together by the consistency of the wistful voice of Lukewarmdaily96.
The artist says on the track, “Poison Apple was the last song I wrote for the EP, and it’s one of my favourites. It’s about recklessness.
I’ve definitely been a reckless person and it’s probably the loudest part of my personality, so it’s fitting that it would be the loudest song on the EP.“
Speaking to the EP, Lukewarmdaily96 explains, “The songs on ‘Cluck’ are like different states of my personality.
It’s a very honest collection of songs and it has sharp edges. I could round those edges off but then it wouldn’t be me.”
Showing admiration for songwriters such as Phoebe Bridgers, James Blake and Alex G, Luke could easily have his name in lights like his influences.
The full EP is out worldwide tomorrow, and it’s a thrilling experience best served with a good pair of headphones.
