Rising Bristol-based duo, Mauwe, are back with the danceable number ‘Okay With You’
Consisting of Portia and Jay, Mauwe, feature a dream-pop vibe but what makes them different is the ounces of dance beats behind them. Infectious and you simply won’t be able to get enough of them, the multi-instrumentalists have been stirring up recognition over the past couple of years and we’re not surprised. Including over 8 million streams on Spotify and receiving support from the BBC Introducing, the duo are currently in the writing process for their next EP.
Mauwe’s new genre-defying effort, ‘Okay With You‘,is a dynamic track with a message we can all relate to – “It’s the moment you realise the flame in a relationship has burned out. You both know it and there’s no point in drawing it out any longer. There’s no blame to be made here and that’s okay, it’s just time to move on.”
Ethereal and drawing you in with its ability to enchant, the mesmerising number refuses to be ignored with its luscious chords. A slight melancholic nature hovers over the number and that’s simply from the track’s slightly dark message. Not following any typical rule book; Mauwe are the first pop band that you’ll hear in a while that aren’t predictable. Portia’s vocals transport us back to the early noughties, but the fresh production modernises the aura while asking permission if it’s okay with you. Holding onto their roots, the Bristol duo are set to become the next big thing, you’ve heard it here first.
