Canadian soul singer-songwriter Miranda Joan releases mesmerising new anthem ‘Ruined’
Canadian soul-pop artist Miranda Joan releases intimate new single ‘Ruined’.
An honest offering that speaks about the vulnerability of a young woman’s first experience in a physical relationship, the relatable number explains what this grey area is really like.
Produced by Julian “J3P0” Pollack, the soulful number features a spacious soundscape that showcases how powerful Miranda’s vocals truly are.
Influenced by the likes of iconic artists such as Erykah Badu, Anderson Paak and Emily King, Miranda’s diverse sound is refreshing and up there with the greats.
Telling us about the release, Miranda states, “every young person wonders what that first time is going to be like, and in this case I got ahead of myself. I was naive and unfortunately with someone who wasn’t safe for me so it was not in any way how I pictured it.
It shattered the fantasy and I think with physical intimacy often being conflated with love, for a while it shattered love for me.
Taken from the forthcoming album ‘Windborne’, which will be released later this year, ‘Ruined’ is a soul-baring experience that illustrates that personal music will always win your heart over.
