Missedcalls teams up with enchanting vocalist Clara Hurtado in new alt-pop single ‘Confesión’
Missedcalls partners up with Spanish born, London based vocalist Clara Hurtado in mysterious new single ‘Confesión’. A collaboration fuelled with culture, ‘Confesión’ rolls off the tongue like it’s been an anthem for years.
On the single, Clara Hurtado stated, “The song is called Confesión because I am confessing my attraction to someone special. It’s superficial at times but I also go onto confess that loving this person brings satisfaction to my life – loving him is enough. The whole tone or vibe of the song is meant to be very flirty, and a bit lazy; almost as if I was telling you mid conversation.”
Bathed in a refreshing production with dark undertones, Missedcalls adds fierce identification to the piece. Inspired by the unlighted sonics emerging from Spanish pop music and the UK’s underground edge, Clara Hurtado’s vocals soar across the soundscape in a free-spirited manner.
Adding to the release, Missedcalls told us, “This beat came together with Clara in mind. We have a great working relationship so always have something in the pipeline. This ones really quite an interesting track production wise as it has such contrasting sections. It takes that Neo Soul influence that I know Clara likes and drops it into a weird kinda Spanish pop come British underground dance section. Spanish pop was a big inspiration.
Artists like Rosalia I really love at the moment. The Spanish lyrics really work to deliver an authentic feel and even though I don’t understand the lyrics. The ‘confesional’ feel is still detectable in Clara’s delivery. I love that!”
