Nashville indie rockers Mountains Like Wax reveal the transcending visuals for new single ‘Boxing Your Ears’
Receiving praise from local and international press, Nashville based outfit Mountains Like Wax continue to plunge for greatness in their songwriting.
Returning with new release ‘Boxing Your Ears’, musically, the track resides in a fierce indie-rock soundscape with elements of pop drifting throughout the cracks.
Speaking about the exciting new release, Mitchell Taylor of Mountains Like Wax tells us, “Boxing Your Ears” is the moment when the inner-fight and naive optimism waves the white flag towards a relationship that is too far to be requited.
I wanted to depict that moment when you’re drunk and you catch yourself in the bathroom mirror and just stare for a moment – with your hands on the sink and a purple-faded smirk, asking yourself ‘what the hell am I doing here?”
For the video, we wanted to capture a couple of different things. First, a look into what it’s like at a Mountains Like Wax show, and secondly, aggression and chaos. There’s a lot of back and forth to this song in a bit of a schizophrenic sort of way, exemplifying that internal dialogue that sometimes drowns out being present.
There’s also some subliminal messaging in the poster scenes towards future singles which features some incredible friends and artists – all I’ll say on that one.”
Visually endearing, the music video sees the band perform the track live in a hazy room.
Looking like they’re having the time of their lives, Mountains Like Wax feel like heavyweights in the world of indie rock.
