Amsterdam singer-songwriter Nevin shares her third single ‘Don’t You Want Me’
Building into an uplifting and energetic number, Nevin’s new single ‘Don’t You Want Me’ is a re-work of the 80s classic of the same name.
Nevin turns the melodies on their head and strips the track down to its raw lyrics with the addition of intense strings, layering instrumentation until the track is completely unrecognisable.
Talking about the new track, Nevin shares, ”We started this project around the summer of 2020, so it’s been laying around for a long time.
In fact, it’s the first finished track of the EP, so it kind of feels like I’m releasing my first born into the world. It’s funny to see how much I’ve grown ever since we recorded it.
I used to go around and ask all my friends for feedback, because I was so self conscious. I’m very happy to see I’ve grown a little bit more into my own sound, this was an important landmark for that’.”
Ambient guitars, nostalgic synths and honest lyrics. Nevin is an Amsterdam based singer/songwriter looking for new ways to get her stories told.
Influenced by a broad range of styles like dream pop, folk and dark electro, Nevin has created her own eclectic sound combining spheric elements and storytelling.
