Indie outfit North Parade unveil their debut EP ‘How To Be Good’ and it needs to be heard
Birmingham born, London based quartet North Parade are no strangers to the ever-growing indie scene. Starting their journey last year with their debut single ‘Birmingham’, the streams, gigs and hits have been flowing with each release. Here with their debut EP ‘How To Be Good’, the 4 track release dives through the realms of stadium indie rock.
On the first track ‘The Now’, Henry of North Parade said this, “It seemed fitting then that the opening track on our debut EP would simply be a song about being in a band. It’s a lot of driving, not a lot of showering, a fair few hangovers and slightly more technical and logistic difficulties. I like ‘The NOW’ because it sounds angry and hopeful all at the same time. I think that’s what we are”.
‘The Now’ is impossible to ignore, and why would you? In your face and reeling in positive vibes, the single may feel aggressive, but it’s fist pumping attitude is free spirited and gives high hopes for the rest of the EP. ‘Keepthingscasual’ is a previously released single that’s already their most played track on Spotify with over 63,000 streams. Highly energetic and bathed in an electronic indie presence, the second single on the EP is a party anthem ready for a dance floor (or in other words…your socially distanced events).
Released at the end of March, ‘Someone’ soothes the soul and has the power to relax you while staying hopeful for the future. A track that calms the stunning storm, the third single on the release is a strong contender. ‘An Accommodation’ is an active number that features an emotive side to it’s lyrics. Simply described as a breath of fresh air, the individuality within the outfit’s music is first-class.
A well presented EP, North Parade deserve their name in lights and with this release, we’re sure they’ll get there soon.
