Having released songs with the members of the Plain White Tees (famed for their hit ‘Hey There Delilah’), Oli has sold-out shows across Chicago and Los Angeles. Having made a name for himself for making sad rap, the new single ‘Now That You Moved On’ sees the solo artist move towards the realms of electro-pop.
Capturing a sense of melancholy within his expressive, emo influenced vocal delivery, Oli contacts his moody singing style with an intensely catchy vocal line and the bright, synth-heavy backing.
Mixing punching 80s drums with boxy vocal samples, a pulsing arpeggiated synth bass and washy pads, the instrumentation is vibrant and dreamy, capturing a sense of summer under the ultra relatable lyricism.
Speaking about the track, Oli describes ‘Now That You’ve Moved On’: “It’s bittersweet. We’re sad and nostalgic about losing someone we loved, but ready to see the beauty in the unknown.”
